Person critically injured in ‘incident’ at Lower Hutt’s Queensgate Mall; people asked to avoid area

Police are investigating “an incident” near Lower Hutt’s Queensgate Shopping Centre early this morning.

Police were called to Queens Drive at 6.30am.

Details are limited about what occurred there.

“A person has suffered critical injuries and police cordons have been put in place,” said a police spokesperson.

“Police are not looking for anyone else in relation to this matter.”

The road is expected to be closed for approximately one hour.

Diversions are in place and motorists and other commuters are asked to avoid the area.
