A person has been critically injured and another seriously in a serious crash near Rotorua.

Emergency services were called to the crash, involving a car and a motorcycle, on State Highway 30, Tikitere, about 10.40am.

Initial indications are one person is critically injured and another is seriously injured.

Diversions are being put in place and motorists are asked to avoid the area.
