People on the move

BMW's new national service manager is Paul Ardin. He began his career as a BMW technician and later worked with the company in Australia and Britain before becoming deputy national service manager in New Zealand. Later he joined Team McMillan BMW as service manager.

The Secretary of Internal Affairs, Roger Blakely, has been reappointed to the position for another six months. His five-year appointment was due to end next month, but he has agreed to stay on until October while a new appointment is made.

The operations manager of Caspex Corporation, Paul Brown, is to head subsidiary company Centra Forklifts as general manager. Mr Brown joined the company in 1998 as national service manager and later became operations manager.

Larissa Lukas is the new manager corporate and legal for Orix New Zealand. She is responsible for all corporate, legal and contractual affairs and will also head the company's HR functions.

Stephen Moore is the new general manager of law firm Davenports. He was general manager finance with Price Waterhouse Coopers. Bernie Allen, a property and business consultant with the firm, has become chairman.

Chris Agnew has joined Compaq Computer as northern delivery manager for e-business management services. He has a background in project management and service delivery roles in the corporate and local government sectors. Colleen McArthur becomes business development manager, commercial PC group. She has held senior sales and management IT positions with a number of companies including Canon and Tech Pacific.

The assistant general manager of Lakeside Convention Centre, Amanda Morgan, has become general manager. She joined Lakeside in 1996 as financial controller.

Paul Bishop is the new general manager for Excell Corporation. He was general manager and acting CEO of Bitumix, and has also been roading and stormwater engineer with Manukau City Council.

Three new appointments have been made by Landplan Pacific. Mark Townsend is responsible for the real estate outsourcing, asset and property management division. He was general manager property for Progressive Enterprises. Greg Reidy has become development manager and will be responsible for the McDonald's Restaurant portfolio. Wendi O'Neill becomes property manager and will also be involved with McDonald's.

Clare Fletcher has joined Genesis Power as general manager retail. She has a background in marketing, sales and general management and has previously worked for New Zealand Post, Hanimex and Westpac.

The front office manager for Stamford Plaza Auckland, Rodney Samuels, has been promoted to business development manager. He has been with the hotel for 11 years in 15 different positions.
