Greg Thompson has been promoted to Auckland general manager of technology recruitment company, LaceyLee Ltd. He has a background in the recruitment industry and joined the company at the beginning of last year.

Edward McKee Wright is joining a new specialist factoring division of Orix New Zealand as operations manager. He has worked in the industry since 1995 and has just been involved in the launch and management of a factoring house for an international trade finance house.

The Nursery and Garden Industry Association's new chief executive officer is Jeremy Kennerley. He was deputy CEO of the Racing Industry Board.

Donald Mann is the new marketing and sponsorship manager of the New Zealand Rugby League Inc, replacing Hugh McGahan. Mr Mann is a former police detective and has a bachelor of business degree. He is the son of former Kiwi prop, Don Mann, and brother to former Kiwi captain Duane Mann.

Former WestpacTrust manager Ross McKinnon is the new manager for PMI Mortgage Insurance Ltd. He has had 20 years in finance and banking and replaces Grant Garner who has retired.

Trevor Burgess has joined Bank of New Zealand as head of payments, New Zealand. He was general manager of Interchange and Settlement Ltd in Wellington and has also worked for Telecom.

Botica Conroy & Associates has appointed Michael Bartrom as general manager. Mr Bartrom is a former business editor of the now defunct Auckland Star, and Sunday Star (now Sunday Star Times).

Civil engineer Tony Smith is joining Metrowater as development liaison manager. He has worked for Contact Energy, United Pacific Electricity, Manukau Consultants and Manukau City Council. Brian Sharman has become drainage asset planning manager for the company. He was asset management planning manager with North West Water Ltd in Britain and has also worked on wastewater contracts in Budapest and Brazil.

Chris Dixon has become a partner with Brown Woolley Graham. He has had more than 20 years' audit experience here and overseas, and joined the audit and risk assurance division of the firm in 1998.

Law firm Brookfields has appointed three new senior associates. Fui Loong Chan joins the commercial property team. He was with Rudd Watts and Stone. Peter O'Dea will offer specialist advice on trust formation and administration, and Mark Frogley joins the Manukau office specialising in commercial litigation. He was with Simpson Grierson.

Steve Marshall has joined the New Zealand board of Willis Corroon Ltd. He has had more than 30 years in business and management, and is a former chief executive of the Employers Federation. He holds a number of directorships including Wakatu Incorporated, ACC and Business in the Community Ltd. He is chairman of the Prince of Wales Trust for New Zealand, and also serves on the governing body of the International Labour Organisation, the Salvation Army advisory board, the New Zealand Pacific Economic Cooperation Council and Wellington's mayoral advisory group.

Chartered accountant Tim Shaw has joined Peter Faire Loss Management Ltd. Mr Shaw specialises in internal audit, risk management, forensic accounting and control assurance, and was director of management assurance services at KPMG. He is on the national board of the Institute of Internal Auditors and is chairman of the institute's Auckland branch.
