The project development manager of ProCare Pharmacy Ltd, Mark Vella, has been promoted to general manager. He is a former senior adviser and project manager with the Ministry of Education.

Uwe Kluge is the new executive chef at Stamford Plaza. He was executive chef at Hammerheads Seafood Restaurant and
has also worked at Sky City's Tamarind Restaurant and at the Centra Hotel.

Chris Hughes is the new chief financial officer (CFO) of Metlifecare. He has had 16 years in financial roles here and overseas, and was general manager of Appco Auto Parts for Repco New Zealand. He has also worked as CFO for Repco Australia.

Raig Kleinhans has joined LANscape as a senior systems engineer. The former East German, who escaped before the fall of the Berlin Wall, worked in IT roles in West Germany. Since coming to New Zealand in 1996 he has worked with tap manufacturer Methven.

Woolworths (NZ) Ltd has made Daniel Djain property director, responsible for its 83 supermarkets, processing plants, distribution centres and Auckland support office complex.
Mr Djain trained as an architect in the United States and practised in Britain. For the last 10 years he has worked for two major international food retailers, Royal Ahold of Holland, and as property director of the Spanish company, Simago, a subsidiary of Woolworths' parent company, Dairy Farms of Hong Kong.

Harry O'Rourke has been confirmed as chief executive of Waitakere City, a role he has filled in an acting capacity since last May.
Mr O'Rourke was with the Justice Department, Marine Department and the Mt Roskill Borough Council before joining the Waitemata County Council. When it became Waitemata City he was appointed town clerk. He was CEO of the process by which Waitemata, New Lynn, Henderson and Glen Eden were amalgamated as Waitakere City.

Perry Sansom has joined esolutions as marketing manager, replacing Graeme Rowe who will develop the company's business in Australia. Mr Sansom has had 12 years in IT with EMC, Renaissance, Apple and Compaq. Brand manager Sue McCarty has had her role broadened to include channel manager. Paddy McDermott has been promoted to delivery manager.
