Michael Oliver is the new finance manager for Spectrum Resources Ltd. He qualified as a chartered accountant with Ernst & Young, and has also worked in international banking, finance and e-commerce in Britain with CS First Boston, Salomon Smith Barney and Industrial Bank of Japan.

Louise Brewer is joining gen-i ltd as product marketing manager. She was with Whoosh Technology and its parent company, Delphic Medical Systems, and has also worked as marketing operations manager for Trustbank.

Tracy Shackleton is the new centre manager of Two Double Seven Broadway Newmarket. She was assistant centre manager at Hunters Plaza. Lousie Banham becomes centre manager for Hunters Plaza.

Andrew Ayers is the new creative group head for the Direct division of Singleton Ogilvy & Mather. He was creative director and a founding member of the New Zealand office of Rapp Collins Worldwide, and a founding member of Saatchi & Saatchi Direct in Wellington.

Sydney-based Michael McConnell is joining the board of Nuplex Industries Ltd. He is managing director of Coolmain Capital Advisers which manages the New Zealand and Australian investment activities of Shamrock Holdings of California Inc. Shamrock has a 16 per cent holding in Nuplex.

Hamilton law firms Norris Ward and McKinnon and Co have taken a further step towards merging with the appointment of Dermot McNerney as joint chief executive. He has a background in health and pharmaceuticals, and was chief executive of Christchurch-based Chemstock.

Paul Frith is EMC Corporation's new managing director for New Zealand and Australia. He was with Sun Microsystems.

The general manager and director of sales and marketing with IMG, Adam Berry, has joined American Express International (NZ) Ltd as director of travel. He replaces Peter Tynan who becomes director of corporate travel operations for American Express in Australia.

Greg Swick has replaced Matthew Drake as Symantec's corporate marketing manager for New Zealand and Australia, not Martin Drake as reported earlier.
