Business software and e-commerce developer exo-net international has appointed Sam Lewis-Roberts as technical resources manager. He will be responsible for the development of the partner technical support infrastructure and will provide a bridge between the sales and business development teams and the partners. Mr Lewis-Roberts has worked for the past 16 years in the field of accounting software development and distribution, for much of the time alongside exo-net co-founder Mark Loveys.

Mindzi Group, which works in the area of internet enabled information systems, has appointed Roger Park as a director of marketing. Mr Park has a background in the graphic art and printing industries, but more recently has been involved in business development with a particular emphasis on the practical application of new technologies.

He is a past president of Printing Industries, Auckland, and remains a director of Xplor International, a worldwide organisation dedicated to enhancing the use of electronic document systems.

Janet Hayden has joined Aon's team of actuaries in Auckland. She has a bachelor of science degree from Auckland University and qualified as an actuary and a fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia in 1989. Her previous experience has been mainly with superannuation working for National Mutual in Auckland and Wellington.

Qantas Airways Ltd has appointed Justin King as its manager in Wellington. He will be responsible for both the commercial and agency business in the region, with the support of 10 staff.

Sheryl Green has been appointed general manager of TMP Worldwide's New Zealand business unit. Based in Auckland, she will head a new unit which will focus on new-generation customer contact centres with a full service, offering recruitment and training through to business process consulting.

Madden Personnel Management has appointed Nicola McGeown as a recruitment consultant specialising in temporary and contract office staff. Ms McGeown has had extensive experience in senior administrative roles along with recent executive sales experience.

Pyne Gould Corporation Ltd is merging its two finance companies, Allied Finance Ltd and Finance and Discounts Ltd, and has appointed Brian Jolliffe to run the combined operation. For the past five years he has been the ANZ Bank's general manager corporate and institutional banking. As part of the merger the general managers of the two finance companies, Richard de Lautour and Ross Nicholas, will take management responsibility for motor vehicle and consumer finance and systems and technology.

Steve Penman has been appointed to Philips Consumer Electronics as national retail sales manager. He holds bachelor of administration and bachelor of commerce and administration (marketing) degrees from Victoria University. Before joining Philips, he was northern regional manager for Resene Santano Ltd.

Colin Baxter this month becomes managing director of Tower Trust (Australia and New Zealand). He succeeds Brenton Wood, who is retiring from Tower Trust (Australia) and Jim Minto, managing director of Tower Health, who was previously managing director of Tower Trust (New Zealand).

Dr Ralph Adler, associate professor of accountancy at Otago University, has been awarded the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) fellowship in business education. He will research case study development in United States business schools with a view to helping to establish a case study centre at Otago serving business schools and corporates.
