A stretch of beachfront road on Auckland's North Shore has reopened after a person was struck by a vehicle earlier today.
The police and Auckland Transport are warning commuters heading to work and school to expect delays as congestion eases after a stretch of Beach Rd in Campbells Bay betweenAberdeen Rd and Red Bluff Rise was closed.
A police spokesman said a person was in a serious condition after being injured by a vehicle around 6.15am.
They were taken to hospital in a serious condition.

The police cordon on the area had since lifted with the road now open to all traffic.
However, Auckland Transport said motorists should allow extra time as delays in the area ease.
Those travelling in the area soon after the accident were diverted away from the crash scene and warned to expect delays. The diversions temporarily affected public transport routes.
The police spokesman said the accident happened near the intersection of Aberdeen and Beach Rds.
