A man hit by a car in Christchurch early this morning has died.
The 48-year-old pedestrian was struck by a car on Newtons Road at about 6.50am.
The road was still blocked between Lawford Road and Curraghs Road at 9am and diversions were in place around the accident.
His next
of kin were currently being notified, police said.
The serious crash unit is investigating.
