Pedestrian killed near Blenheim

A pedestrian has been killed while walking along State Highway 1 near Blenheim last night.

The female pedestrian was hit by a car as she walked next to the state highway at Riverlands, just out of Blenheim, about 5.45pm, police said.

The highway was open but down to one lane as the death was investigated.
