Pedestrian killed in Palmerston North

An 18-year-old man was struck by a vehicle and killed in Palmerston North overnight.

The man was seen walking down Napier Rd about 2am when he was struck and killed by a northbound vehicle.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are continuing to investigate and officers are speaking to witnesses.

The man's name would be released once formal identification had been completed and his next of kin had been informed.
