Pedestrian killed by train at Ranui station, West Auckland

A person has died after being hit by a train in Auckland.

Northern fire communications shift manager Jaron Phillips said the person was struck at Ranui Train Station, West Auckland, just before 7am.

Metcalfe Rd is closed between Pooks Rd and Ranui Station Rd and diversions are in place.

Police thank motorists and commuters in advance for their patience.
