Pedestrian in serious condition after crash in West Harbour, Auckland

A pedestrian is in a serious condition after a crash in the Auckland suburb of West Harbour this evening.

Police said emergency services responded to a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian around 7.20pm on Westpark Dr.

“The pedestrian has suffered serious injuries and has been taken to hospital with ambulance.

“One person is in custody and police are looking into the circumstances surrounding the crash.”

Hato Hone St John said one ambulance, one rapid response vehicle and one operations manager were called to the scene about 7.15pm.

“We have taken one person in a serious condition to Auckland Hospital.”

A witness at the scene told the Herald a woman was lying in the middle of the road and was eventually taken away in an ambulance.

A man was seen being taken away with handcuffs on.
