Pedestrian hit and killed in South Auckland

Police say a pedestrian killed in Papatoetoe this morning was a man, not a child as has been reported.

Police were called to St George St about 9am today after reports that a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle.

The Serious Crash Unit is in attendance.

The road is closed between Great South Rd and Kingswood Rd and cordons are expected to be in place for the next two hours.
