Paul Holmes back in hospital

Broadcaster Paul Holmes is back in Hawkes Bay Hospital battling the latest of a series of infections following open-heart heart surgery in June.

He said from his ward tonight he returned to hospital but hoped he could be discharged in the next few days.

Holmes, aged 62, said he seemed to have spent most recent weekends in hospital with varying ailments, but did not know if the latest infection was related to his heart surgery or the prostate cancer he overcame more than a decade ago.
