Patient escapes from psychiatric ward

A man who went missing from a psychiatric ward at Middlemore Hospital yesterday should not be approached, police say.

Glen Hamp is 1.7m tall with short brown hair, a fair complexion and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing jeans and a polo shirt. He had recently started treatment and left without approval.

Sergeant Chris Money asked the public to ring police and not approach Hamp directly.
