French woman Jenny Boissinot, who has been in New Zealand for two months, is this morning still waiting for news of her older sister, Chloe, 25, who was shot while in The Little Cambodia restaurant with her boyfriend.
She hasn't slept since the attack happened about 24 hours ago.
"Itwas my day off and I skyped my mother when she told me what's happened about my sister ... I am so tired I haven't slept since.
"We don't have any news at the moment, so we have waited 24 hours but we don't know ... we thought she might be in hospital but we don't know, we don't know where she is."
Miss Boissinot, 23, is currently in Paihia, Bay of Islands, said her sister's boyfriend - who was shot in the hand - lost contact with her sister in all the the terror, panic and confusion.
He was now out of hospital and with Miss Boissinot's family trying to track Chloe down. Miss Boissinot yesterday posted an urgent plea on Facebook for any information on her sister.
The post, translated from French, read: "Emergency. My Brother-in-law was injured and is in the hospital. In a panic he lost my sister. We have no news of Chloe (Chloë Boissinot). She was at the restaurant "the little Cambodia" in the 10th, next to the bataclan. Please, if you have any information, call my family, the police...I beg you."
Miss Boissinot said she'd heard a rumour her sister may have been shot in the shoulder but she didn't know.
