A paraglider has been seriously injured in Raglan following a crash over the small Waikato town.

Emergency services are attending the incident at Ngarunui Beach.

A helicopter was dispatched and St John transported one person in a serious condition to Waikato Hospital at 2.27pm.

The Civil Aviation Authority has been notified.

New Zealand Hanggliding and Paragliding Association Waikato branch secretary Ian Manton said the association was not aware of the incident but would be making inquiries.
