“Initial indications are that the victim and the offenders are known to each other and there is no risk to the wider community.”
Officers, including the Armed Offenders Squad, were conducting inquiries at a Grove Rd address this afternoon.
No arrests have been made at this time, the spokesperson said.
Cordons were in place on Grove Rd but have since been removed.
“We thank all those residents impacted by the cordons for their patience and co-operation.”
Clevedon and Grove Rd residents can expect an increased police presence this evening as inquiries continue.
Hato Hone St John were called to the scene at 11.24am today, a spokesperson said.
St John sent two ambulances, one rapid response vehicle and an operations manager to the scene.
Police have asked anyone with information which can assist the investigation to call 105, quoting event number P065600744.
