Police are searching for two people they believe left an Isuzu truck after it rolled on South Rd in Dunedin just before 7pm tonight.
A woman, believed to be the driver, was taken to Dunedin Hospital after the incident near the Southern Cemetery. Her injuries were not known
Acting Sergeant Simon Reay said police wanted to ensure that the other passengers weren't hurt.
"Quite often people will walk away purely out of shock," he said.
"First and foremost, we want to find them to ascertain that they are safe and sound."
Skid marks on the road suggested the truck lost control while going uphill, but it was too early to know the cause of the crash, Acting Sgt Reay said.
South Rd remained closed to traffic while police cleared the scene.
Two fire appliances from the Dunedin Central fire station and Lookout Point fire station attended the crash.
