Two people accused of stealing hunting gear from a Christchurch outdoor supply store will appear in court next week.

A 38-year-old man and 33-year-old woman were arrested today, police said.

Detective Inspector Tony Hill said some items of hunting equipment, taken from Twin Needle on December 20 last year and last Sunday, have now been recovered.

Canterbury Police have arrested two people and recovered a number of items of stolen hunting equipment today.

Detective Inspector Tony Hill says the items seized have been linked to the recent burglary of Twin Needle in Christchurch.

"This is a good result for police and the victim," he said.

"However, a number of items have yet to be located and we urge anyone who sees items for sale to contact police."

The man has been charged with receiving stolen property and unlawfully possessing a firearm.

The woman has been charged with receiving stolen property.

They have been released on bail and are due to appear at Christchurch District Court next Tuesday.

Police encourage anyone who is offered hunting equipment, or "sees items for sale on line, at prices too good to be true" to contact police straight away by calling 03 363 7400.
