Paeroa driveway accident leaves toddler in serious condition

An 18-month-old girl run over in the driveway of her Paeroa home remains in a serious but stable condition in Waikato Hospital's intensive care unit.

The girl was run over by a small truck in the driveway of her parent's Bush Rd property about 2.30pm yesterday. She was airlifted to hospital by the Westpac Waikato Rescue Helicopter in a critical condition.

Waikato police Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Greene said neither the driver or his truck were associated to the house.

He couldn't provide any further information about how the incident happened however the Waikato police serious crash unit was investigating.
