A house in Lower Hutt has been cordoned off by police in connection with the death of man found with stab wounds on Friday morning.
Matthew Stevens, 32, was discovered dead next to his damaged car on Paekakariki Hill Road.
A homicide investigation was launched yesterday after a post mortemexamination was carried out.
Police were at an Oxford Terrace address this morning undertaking a forensic examination, a police spokesman said.
Yesterday, Detective Sergeant Mike Sears said police still wanted to hear from anyone who had seen Mr Stevens or his Toyota Corolla vehicle, registration number RZ1852, between 10pm on Thursday and 1.30am on Friday last week.
Mr Sears said anyone with information should call 04 381 2000 and ask for the Operation Vintage investigation team, or provide information anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
