The sweeps included raids on 172 properties in the Eastern and Western Bay of Plenty, Rotorua, Tokoroa and Taupo. Police destroyed several thousand cannabis plants, confiscated methamphetamine and recovered stolen property worth $60,000. Detective Senior Sergeant Lindsay Pilbrow says police also worked closely with Ministry of Justice officials, who were able to recover $100,000 of outstanding fines. He warns this will not be the last district-wide drug bust for the year. - NEWSTALK ZB AdvertisementAdvertise with NZME.AdvertisementAdvertise with NZME.SaveShareShare this articleCopy LinkEmailFacebookTwitter/XLinkedInRedditLatest from New ZealandNew ZealandNational joins Labour to back bill protecting workers talking about payNew Zealand'It's on in the Tron': Robertson looking forward to final testNew ZealandWellington mayoral candidate ordered to pay former employee $28kSponsoredSolar bat monitors uncover secrets of Auckland’s night skyAdvertisementAdvertise with NZME.
