A pedestrian who was hit on State Highway One at Otaki, north of Wellington, on Saturday has died.
The woman, who was rushed to Palmerston North Hospital in a critical condition, died yesterday morning as a result of her injuries, Detective Senior Sergeant Craig Sheridan said.
The serious crash unithas completed its initial scene examination but the matter is still under investigation.
Police will likely be in a position to name the victim later this week.
