Person dies after rolling his car in Bannockburn

A person was killed last night after rolling his car on a rural stretch of road in Central Otago.

Emergency services were called to the single-vehicle crash on Bannockburn Rd, near Cairnmuir Rd in Nevis at 9.45pm.

Police said a person was found with critical injuries and despite CPR, he died at the scene.

The serious crash unit examined the scene.

Bannockburn Rd was blocked after the crash but has since reopened.

Bannockburn is a short drive south of Cromwell.
