The Wellington Monster Slide event was yesterday postponed after organisers found the slide's proposed waterfront set-up was inadequate.
Monster Slide, billed as a "a summertime, family friendly slip-n-slide party event", has faced problems in venues around the country.
Disgruntled Aucklanders let fly after hundreds were forced to queue at itsSunday event after a puncture in one of the slide's two landing pools closed two of its four lanes.
Organiser Jamie Templeton said the Wellington set-up "was going to be the same as Christchurch which caused us many problems".
Several people were reportedly injured at the Christchurch event. The organisation was searching for a more suitable venue, he said.
Meanwhile, Carterton amusement worker Matthew Martin has slammed an events company after six children were taken to hospital as a precaution when a 14m inflatable slide collapsed at the Masterton A & P Show.
