OPAC prides itself on growing, harvesting, packing and cool-storing exceptional quality kiwifruit for supply through Zesprito export markets around the world. With a large orcharding and post-harvest operation based in Opotiki, we provide orchard to market services to kiwifruit growers in the Eastern Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawkes Bay, and Te Puke areas.
Reporting to the Chief Executive the Orchard Operations Manager is a pivotal appointment. The key responsibilities will include:
• Providing strong leadership, mentoring and support to a large and diverse team • Effectively managing the planning, resourcing and execution of all orchard activities • Development and implementation of strategies to deliver exceptional orchard performance • Promoting the company's services and capabilities and managing key client relationships • Active participation at the senior management level • Maintaining a culture of health and safety, teamwork and continuous improvement

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:
• Significant horticultural management experience in a large scale operation, ideally in an orchard management capacity • Proven staff management experience with very good interpersonal, relationship management and leadership skills • Superior communication skills - verbal, presentation and written • All round business acumen and skill in business development • A relevant tertiary qualification but more importantly an excellent attitude and desire to succeed individually and within the OPAC team
