The Company
New Zealand Specialty Kiwifruit Products Ltd is a start-up and is a major new kiwifruit processing business focused on exporting products to Asia and based in the heart of the industry in Tauranga.
The Role
We've already said it, but this role is critical. It's a senior role working directly with the GM getting this start up established and running. The factory has been built and now we need to get the equipment up and running. The main focus is putting in place all the operational processes to get us running and then delivering outstanding operational performance while building a great team. We are using modern technology and sourced new kit that we need to learn, customise and optimise.
You will play an instrumental part in developing and implementing all areas of operations. The business is investing heavily in this operation and you will be the go-to for all operational matters where you will help ensure pioneering production is achieved whilst surpassing quality expectations.
There will be times when international travel will be required, particularly in the early stages of set up.
The Person
We are looking for someone who loves operations and making things work, is self-motivated, who delivers results while enjoying the challenge. A sense of humour is a must! To be considered for the Operation Manager role, you will;
•have a genuine interest in operations, quality and optimisation
•be a rapid learner
•be a team player
•have excellent attention to detail
•work productively in a high-pressure environment
•have a flexible approach to working be organised with great time management
•have at least 5 years' experience running a packhouse or similar.
You will be able to demonstrate a strong knowledge of root cause analysis plus a good working knowledge of meeting customer requirements.
