One person has been seriously injured in a multiple car crash in Hamilton.

Emergency services were called to Boundary Rd, in Claudelands, about 2.30pm.

A St John spokeswoman said one person suffered serious injuries in the accident and had been taken to Waikato Hospital for treatment.

The age or gender of that person have not been released.
