One dead after motorcycle crash on Kaipara Coast Highway

One person died following a crash this afternoon near Kanohi Rd, Kaukapakapa, West Auckland.

The motorcycle crash was reported about 12.45pm, a police spokesperson said.

“Initial indications are that one person has been seriously injured.”

A Hato Hone St John spokesperson said one ambulance, one rapid response team and one helicopter responded to the call.

“We airlifted one patient in a critical condition through to Auckland Hospital.”

Police later advised the person had died.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and take alternate routes, said police.
