One person was seriously injured when a ute and a milk tanker crashed in the Bay of Plenty this morning.
Police said the vehicles collided on State Highway 2 between Katikati and Omokoroa, northwest of Tauranga, about 5.15am.
The driver of the ute was taken to Tauranga Hospital with serious injuries.
Diversions are in place on SH2 between Katikati and Omokoroa while the police serious crash unit investigates. The road will be reopened once the scene has been examined and cleared.
Police said the diversion was only suitable for light vehicles, and heavy truck drivers should find an alternate route.
