One person has died following a crash in Rangiotu, near Palmerston North.

Emergency services were called to a single-vehicle crash on Bainesse Rd about 8.10pm.

A police spokeswoman said one person had died following the crash.

The road is closed with diversions in place.

The Serious Crash Unit will examine the scene.
