One person injured after ute careens into creek in Lower Hutt

One person has sustained injuries after their ute went into a river in Stokes Valley, Lower Hutt.

Police were called to the scene on Eastern Hutt Rd just after 2pm.

The solo occupant of a ute had driven the vehicle into a small creek between Stokes Valley Rd and Reynolds Bach Dr.

A police spokesman said the person was out of their vehicle when they arrived and had sustained injuries.

"To what extent, we don't yet know," the spokesman said.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand crew had also attended the scene.
