A person is in a serious condition after suffering burns in a suspected gas explosion in Te Aroha.
Two ambulances are at the scene and a rescue helicopter is en route to the incident, following a call at 12.06pm today.
"Our crew is currently assessing one patient is serious condition,"
a St John Ambulance spokeswoman said.
The person received burns, she said.
