One person in hospital after Auckland house fire

One person has been taken to hospital with smoke inhalation after a house fire in west Auckland today.

The person was taken to Waitakere Hospital in a moderate condition following the house fire about 12.25pm at Waimumu Rd, Massey, about 20km west of downtown Auckland.

A Fire Service northern communications centre spokesman said the house was well ablaze when two appliances arrived. The fire was under control by 2pm.

Fire safety officers were investigating the cause of the fire.
