One person hospitalised following crash in Northcote, Auckland

One person is being taken to hospital with a suspected broken wrist following a crash on Auckland's North Shore.

Police and fire crews were called to the scene just after 6pm after the two cars crashed on Northcote Rd in the suburb of Northcote.

It was initially believed two people were trapped in two separate cars following the crash.

A police spokeswoman said officers arrived to find both people were out of their cars.

One person had a suspected broken wrist and was about to be taken by ambulance to hospital.

Both lanes were blocked for a section of the road, but will soon be open to motorists.
