One person dead in Waikato crash

At least one person is dead after a crash in the Waikato this afternoon.

The crash happened about 2.40pm on Puketaha Road in Puketaha, about 11km north-east of Hamilton, northern police communications Inspector Christopher Tate said.

It appeared only one car was involved in the accident, he said.

Police were still at the scene and road diversions were in place.
