One person has died after a campervan and a car crashed in Otaraia near Gore.
One of the victims of a fatal car crash in Gore has been released from hospital and another is in a stable condition.
Detective Dougall Henderson said the scene examination of yesterday's crash on Old Coach Rd involving a campervan and a station wagon had been completed today.
The passenger
in the campervan - a 52-year-old woman from the North Island - died at the scene.
The driver of the campervan - a 42-year-old woman also from the North Island - was released from Southland Hospital this afternoon and the sole occupant of the station wagon - a 78-year-old Southland man - remained in a stable condition in Dunedin Hospital.
It was too early to determine the cause of the crash, he said.
