A person has been injured at a commercial premises in Omarama, near Tekapo, when a gas bottle exploded.
The accident is believed to have happened at a cafe on Pinot Noir Court.
The Omarama volunteer fire brigade fire service was called around 4.35pm to a reported LPG explosion, a Fire
and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said.
"Essentially we treated a patient for burns, and they were then handed over to St John [Ambulance]," he said.
There was no damage to the commercial building where the explosion happened, he said.
