One injured after Nelson house engulfed in flames

A person is being treated for burns after fire ripped through a Nelson home this morning.

Fire and Emergency southern communications shift manager Andrew Norris said the alarm was raised at 9.05am with flames engulfing the Seymour Ave house.

One person believed to be inside the property when the blaze broke out suffered minor burns.

Norris said two crews were battling the blaze with two more on their way.
