One person has died after a campervan and a car crashed in Otaraia near Gore.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Andrews Rd and Old Coach Rd at 4.30pm.

One person had died and another was taken to Dunedin Hospital by helicopter, with non-life threatening injuries.

A third person was taken to Invercargill Hospital by ambulance.

SH93 is closed near the intersection with Andrews Rd and diversions remain in place.

The Serious Crash Unit are at the scene.
