One dead, one serious after North Island crashes

A person has died and two others have minor injuries after a car crash in Northland.

It was one of two serious crashes on North Island roads last night and happened about 11.40pm on Mountain View Rd in Hikurangi.

A male died at the scene.

The incident involved one vehicle.

The Serious Crash Unit is investigating.

Two St John Ambulances attended.

Also, a person has been taken to Waikato Hospital after a road smash between a car and small truck in the King Country.

It happened just before 10.30pm on Main North Rd in Otorohanga.

St John Ambulance officers treated one person with serious injuries then took them to hospital.
