Man dies in water near Auckland’s Mt Wellington

A man has died in a water-related incident in Auckland.

Police were called to a spot off the coast of Mt Wellington after reports of a body floating in the water. Police said the man had been swimming.

“Police responded to Mt Wellington around 3.45pm. The deceased has since been recovered from the water,” a police statement said.

The death has been referred to the coroner.
