One dead in Waikato two-car collision

One person is dead and four others injured after two vehicles collided in south Waikato about 6pm last night.

Police say two people are seriously injured and two have moderate injuries. Traffic was diverted around the crash scene on Tirau Rd, Karapiro.

Heavy traffic travelling towards Cambridge should use State Highway 26 and SH27.

The police serious crash unit is investigating.
