One person is dead after a crash in Southland around midnight last night.
Police said they are investigating a crash, understood to involve a single vehicle, which happened in Tiwai Rd, Awarua Plains.
The driver of the vehicle died at the scene.
The passenger was taken to hospital in a
critical condition, but is now in a moderate, stable condition.
An investigation into the cause is underway.
