One dead in serious crash northwest of Auckland

The single-vehicle crash is on Kahikatea Flat Rd, near the intersection with State Highway 16.

A person is dead after a serious crash northwest of Auckland this morning.

Police said just one car was involved in the crash on Kahikatea Flat Rd about 7.15am.

Auckland Transport said the crash was near the intersection with SH16.

Traffic was being controlled through the crash scene by stop-go signs and motorists were being told to expect delays and take extra care in the area.

The Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
