A man died at the scene of a car crash near Carterton yesterday.
Emergency services were called to the single-vehicle car crash on Perrys Rd between East Taratahi Rd and Francis Line at about 5.30pm.
Masterton Sergeant Peter Rix said the man had been ejected from the car and had
suffered significant injuries.
Ambulance staff tried to resuscitate him but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the man, and the cause of the crash, was not yet able to be confirmed, Mr Rix said.
It was believed the man had been travelling south on the gravel road when the crash happened. He was the sole occupant of the car.
