One person has died following a crash on Twizel Road near Lake Pukaki today.
This crash involved a single vehicle that lost control and rolled several times on State Highway 8 in Tekapo at about 4:30pm.
Two other people were flown by Westpac Rescue Helicopter to Christchurch Hospital.
A serious
crash investigation is underway and the road will be closed while police conduct a scene examination and remove the vehicle from the road.
This is expected to take several hours.
