One person has died following a crash on Twizel Road near Lake Pukaki today.
This crash involved a single vehicle that lost control and rolled several times on State Highway 8 in Tekapo at about 4:30pm.
Two other people were flown by Westpac Rescue Helicopter to Christchurch Hospital.
A seriouscrash investigation is underway and the road will be closed while police conduct a scene examination and remove the vehicle from the road.

Police reminded drivers to always drive with care and at a speed appropriate to the conditions - road conditions in Canterbury, Otago and Southland may still be affected by debris from yesterday's storm.
