One dead after West Coast crash

One person is dead after a single car crash on the West Coast.

Emergency services were called to the accident scene on the Haast Highway, about 40km southwest of Fox Glacier, at 12.51pm, St John ambulance spokesman Ian Henderson said.

One person died at the scene and two woman were transferred by helicopter to Greymouth Hospital, one with serious injuries and the other with moderate injuries, Mr Henderson said.
